I have been sifting through a book I read a long time ago, called the mood cure. I’m very interested in understanding how to improve mood. This book goes into detail about a number of topics, one of which I find easy and extremely helpful.
The author, Julia Ross, talks about good mood foods vs bad mood foods. How there is a big impact on mood when you choose something whole and healthy vs artificial or processed. I think this can be a huge step for you- and it can only take a few weeks.
A while back, I decided to start learning about holistic healing. That’s where I found this book. One of the things I decided, was to really reprogram how I chose foods. It’s been a battle and not always perfect, but the overall jist is like- if its natural go for it. If it’s not don’t.
This can be tough if you’re used to choosing very addictive junk food or processed food. A lot of times growing up, we just eat and don’t think too much of it. There are big reactions in the body when we eat certain foods. Not to mention choosing foods during stress.
What I found is that when we give the body whole, healthy foods, even if we’re not a big fan- and we learn, and really take in the endless benefits of those foods- our taste buds change. We start actually wanting those foods. Suddenly- and it might take a few weeks- your cravings for sugar, or processed foods calm down. There is a new craving, and it’s for greens or healthy fats.
It can be helpful to look up the numerous benefits of healthy foods- the rejuvenating effects, cleansing effects, and much more. Then when you’re eating them it’s like- oh yeah, that’s what they’re doing.
So check out the book, the Mood Cure- there is a lot of really helpful information in there.
Wishing you health and strength.
