I reference the book Go Wild at times as a guide with good lessons on how nature heals us. There are a lot of topics covered but in general it shows us how our ancestors were so connected to nature so it’s how we evolved. This way of looking at things can answer a lot of questions. If someone says they feel tired and drained right now- we can look to nature to find areas to work on and get some power back.
One powerful aspect of nature that is very healing is getting enough sunlight. It’s best to get it right away in the morning but any time of day can be helpful. Sunlight helps us create vitamin D which helps with bone health, immunity, and increases our overall wellbeing.
One interesting idea is this: Think of ancestors, or hunter gatherers waking up and getting sunlight. Being so connected to nature, without modern distraction, they would feel a surge of energy and right away they would feel: Hope- it’s a new day, new opportunity. They’d feel warmth, and also spaciousness- a full day to build, hunt, grow, and whatever else was needed. All of this would give them tremendous energy.
If we let go of something that gives us an artificial boost, like a substance or the tv, we can feel that same energy just from some sunlight. I’ve shared this idea before, that if we are used to something artificial giving us that boost, then the natural things don’t seem to be enough. But the unnatural things actually drain us- whereas nature heals and rejuvenates. A simple and obvious example is eating junk food every day- you feel an artificial boost but it’s actually draining you. Or you can have a fruit and vegetable smoothie- which might not taste as exciting, but it gives you the right kind of boost and increases your energy.
You got this, step by step. Wishing you health and strength.
