
In this article I’ll be going over ways to raise your Testosterone naturally. It’s useful for anyone, and of course, especially guys. And it’s something to learn about and understand- as there are declining levels, clear reasons why, and it’s not talked about much. Since 1950, the average level has been going down 1% each year. And now your levels can be between 200-1000 to be considered “normal”. Big sweeping range right? This means if you came in at 201, a doctor may say “your levels are fine”, when they are reflecting the levels of a 70 year old. Something is clearly off. So let’s dive in.
I was able to do my own work, without an “expert”, and raise my levels 3.5 X. From a level that was too low, to overall healthy levels. As your levels go up, you naturally feel better, stronger. Your body heals. So many benefits, and I encourage you to research.
There are many reasons the average level seems to be dropping- and you can speculate as to why that is. Hmmm… But to be aware of that and choose to take matters into your own hands is the first step. So what kinds of things can help you raise your levels? Here is what helped me:
- No substances. Any substance or toxin is harmful to us. We know this. Especially alcohol which raises estrogen and lowers Testosterone. So no substances including, and it’s your choice, prescriptions… which have side effects, sometimes detrimental to Testosterone.
- Clean water. Using a filter or drinking spring or distilled water is great. Some filters take out things like fluoride, chlorine, and plastics. There is a lot in the water and make sure yours is filtered is vital.
- Sleep routine. A sleep routine can include keeping screens off, or atleast a blue light blocker as the sun goes down. When the sun goes down, nature is using melatonin to say, time to wind down. Go with it. Some herbal tea or meditation/prayer, or a helpful book. All of these can help get a good night sleep. Levels go up when sleep well.
- Exercise. Movement. If you sit a lot, or for work, use a standing desk, take breaks and stretch during those breaks. Take walks, shake out or so some exercise. Sitting too much drops levels and movement is just good overall. Otherwise, listen to your body. My jump 3.5X in Testosterone involved rejuvenative exercise only. Walking, jogging, sprinting on occasion. That’s what my body needed. However, to raise levels- primal movements and weights will assist. Anything to give you a challenge and stimulate a response. Sprinting/Jumping. Compound weight lifting. So Pullups, Bench Presses, Dips, Squats, Deadlifts. Again, listen to your body.
- Nature time. Nature is healing and rejuvenative. Feeling the earth, getting sunlight, which stimulates vitamin D, hearing the birds and trees, seeing the sights and colors, smelling- it gets you present and let’s you relax. This rejuvenating practice can support higher T levels.
- Nutrition. As much as you can, choose foods your ancestors would have eaten. Which means nothing processed- especially high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, colorings, etc. All of this stuff throws your system into stress mode. Eating natural food only- even if that’s the only action you took- you’d increase your levels. Fruits and veggies with antioxidants, eat fat- especially healthy fats- avocados, fish, nuts/seeds. Also remember, testosterone is made from cholesterol, so don’t be afraid of it. Eggs are great and contain a lot of nutrients. Also probiotics, prebiotics for gut health. Our guts help with digestion and wellbeing by creating a lot of dopamine and serotonin, which affect well being and Testosterone levels. Everything is interconnected.
- Supplements. I began using Ashwaghanda and saw amazing results- so do some research on that. It’s been shown to support healthy T levels. I also take Turmeric which is anti inflammatory. A multi vitamin, especially vitamin D, zinc, selenium. All help raise those levels.
- Technology Fasting. This is more theory, but I think when we take time away from screens, we become more present, calm and feel better overall. I could see that supporting overall health and energy levels, possibly T levels. Use nature time, walks, and non technology activities to pull yourself away from screens (meaning after you read this article turn off the screen), feel more present, more connected, and better levels. Recognize many things that discourage present energy- many distractions. Let the go as best you can.
- Working Through Trauma. Healing. When you work through and release stress and trauma you become stronger. Your system balances. Overall healing occurs. This includes T levels. Somatic practices, body tapping, and many of the above assist in healing. One step at a time.
- Acupuncture/Chiropractic. These two modalities may be effective as they are caring for injuries or energy blockages in the body. That restores balance which may support higher T levels.
There are many ways you can naturally raise your levels. It’s important to be curious and learn- you may or may not have people around you who would say “maybe you should get your levels checked.” And many doctors don’t even ask or suggest checking it. It’s very strange. So wake up and get them checked. If they are low, just work on one thing at a time and take note of progress.
