Aside from books that inspire you and give you so much value- here are some other resources that can be really helpful for you. Use these along side coaching and get continuous improvement in your Health and Energy.
ACRONYMS are great to help us understand a word in a deeper way- a creative way to ground in the meaning and energy of it. Here are some of mine that can be key for you:
GRATITUDE: Gifts Really Are There, It’s Truly an Understanding and Daily Exercise/Expression. Practicing Gratitude is so powerful. You can change your energy and feel inspired and motivated just by writing or speaking out 5 things you’re grateful for every day. Some amazing things can happy with this one practice. A great audiobook- it’s more of recorded live talk- is “The Grateful Heart” by David Reindl-Stast who is a monk.
REST: Rejuvenating Energy, Silent Time. Or Really Essential Silent Time. When your body says rest, it’s time to rest. Turn off technology and just rest. Laying on a pillow and having your feet up on a couch is a great way to rest. Nature walks are great too. Thich Naht Hanh’s book “How To Rest” is a great resource.
THOUGHT: The Heavy Or Uplifting Gifts Hovering Throughout. Meditation is a great practice and letting thoughts come and go without arguing or thinking more. This practice can be very helpful.
APPS: If you have a lot of apps- look at them and ask if it’s necessary or helpful. Is it a distraction? News app, enter-tain-ment, etc? Noise? Just more screen time? If so, let those go and use only ones that are truly helpful. Watch what happens.
Audible: Audible let’s you listen to valuable audiobooks- you can learn about whatever it is that inspires or that you’re working with. Otherwise a library has tons of books and many have Libby- an audio book library service. Read a book- change your life.
Think Up: This is one where you can record yourself saying affirmations, quotes, prayers, passages from books, etc. It will play your words back over calming music which repeats. Why is this helpful? If you take in messages from all different sources, chances are much of it is not needed and negative. Think Up allows you to choose and hear helpful messages.
Otter: This app let’s you record as it takes notes for you. Useful to record reminders, insights, or note helpful passages as you read.
An App of Your Tradition: A couple examples would be Cantena- a Bible app where you can select a passage and read an early Church Desert Father or Mother’s interpretation of it as you reflect on your own. Another is Plum Village which is an app with meditations, reflections, and practices of Buddhism. Whatever your tradition- there is amazing wisdom there and there may be an app to learn and appreciate, connect more.
Candle Light: This app allows you to dim your screen on your own or based on circadian rhythm. Why is this helpful? When the Sun goes down, we release Melatonin which let’s us know it’s time to slow down and get ready for rest. Blue screens stop Melatonin, waking you up, disrupting sleep- which has a cascading effect. Put a screen dimmer on and turn screens off as best as you can- sleep will improve, energy, and more.
Trauma Healing Resources
Irene Lyon 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up: Learning about trauma gives us a lot of understanding and space to work with ourselves. This course and Irene’s content is very helpful for understanding and practice. Simple reminders like orienting, just feeling our feet and body on the surfaces their on and just noticing what’s around. It’s simple and allows us to bring our attention back.
Body and Brain Yoga: My friends at Body and brain have shown me many helpful practices and lessons- like body tapping, intestines exercises- stimulating and healing your gut- which of course affects everything, from mood, to digestion and energy, to sleep and feeling more grounded. And recognizing you are infinitely more than your conditioned mind may think. These practices and teaches are incorporated into one on one and group coaching.
Nutrition Healing Resources
ZNaturalFoods: This is a great resource for herbs and powdered foods. Choose natural whole foods and if you want to incorporate a supplement- this site may help. They do offer functional mushrooms, berry powder and more.
FindASpring.com: Use Find A Spring to locate Natural Spring Water Sources in your area. Do your research and you can go and can fill up with Pure Spring Water directly from Nature. Stay hydrated—
Nutrition Source: This is a Nutrition Store in West Boylston, MA. If you’re in the area, stop by for what you are looking for and ask questions- you’ll learn a lot.
