
During a Yoga class today, we were practicing just feeling energy. A lot of times after the body work, it’s during this time that we learn something- some insights come up. Today I felt pulled to really practice self compassion and give my younger self some support.
We can take a moment, a few deep breaths, and just do a very light scan of the different seasons of our lives without analyzing too much- just feel it out- “this is the jist of this time period”. You might become aware of different types of emotion and energy.
You can become aware of a certain area, or areas, that need support and attention. Maybe you see traumas that caused reactions and difficulties, many that you couldn’t understand or work with. Maybe now is the time.
Without judging or analyzing just feel out- that is what I experienced. That was a wound. It caused a lot of difficulty and maybe I blamed myself. Maybe I felt alone. It can help to just see it like a knot that’s slowly unraveling, at its own pace.
As you feel it out or see it inwardly, just let emotion flow. Over analyzing doesn’t do any good. Anger, sadness, any emotion- it’s there for a reason. And here, we can practice compassion for ourselves in that time period. During the practice I found myself saying to my younger self- you got this. We got this. You are loved. You can give yourself a prayer or mantra that helps you ground in- you are loved and good and deserve happiness.
