Gut Healthy, Healing Salad Recipe

I hope you’re great- Here is a recipe I made that you can consider Gut Healthy and Healing. The foods used are mainly GBOMBS foods– which are some of the best foods we can eat for anti inflammation and they’re overall protective. GBOMBS stands for Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, Seeds (and then Wild Caught Fish). You can incorporate these foods knowing they’re very beneficial. And interestingly, the more you incorporate these types of foods, know and FEEL their benefit, the easier it is to let go of anything else that is not good for you.

So here is the recipe, and I’ll list out SOME of the benefits of each item:

Warm up Grass Fed Butter or Coconut Oil in a pan. The butter has great fats with Omega 3’s which are help with mood and overall health. Coconut Oil has Medium Chain Triglycerides which are used for fuel. These fats help you absorb more of the nutrients from the vegetables. Those are good to cook with at higher heats… Here it’s mainly low heat, but you can put some Olive Oil on at the end of the process.

Toss in some Garlic, Onion, Shallots– any or all. These are all covered under the O- For Onion in GBOMBS. These have anti oxidants so they are very protective for our cells. And you can remember this by seeing that an Onion actually looks like a cell. Garlic is an anti fungal, anti viral, and anti bacterial. The more I learn these things, the more it amazes me.

Add in some Spinach. G- for Greens. Antioxidants and Chlorophyll, very protective. Lutein is great for your eyes.

Beans. B- for Beans. You can use any type. These contain Fiber, Protein, and especially darker colored beans help nourish your Adrenals/Kidneys- very important.

Mushrooms. Any kind. M- for Mushroom. This are protective and help the cardiovascular system, immune and brain.

Use some herbs or spices– just get creative. I added in Cilantro which is a Chelator- these foods pull heavy metals and toxins out of your system. Oregano and Cumin which are very protective, anti inflammatory, and help with memory, lower anxiety and help with sleep. Oregano is a Natural Anti Biotic.

Many of the above items are Prebiotic foods– which feed your gut micro flora- this leads to better energy, improved mood and synthesis of Vitamins!

Optional- You can squeeze some lemon onto it as well. Great to help your heart and it’s very protective.

Add some Probiotics to the mix- I used Kimchi with some spice. Probiotics are the good bacteria we need in our system which again help with energy, improved mood and synthesis of Vitamins.

Go for it and follow that template or get creative with it. I hope you learned something helpful and the meal is awesome.

Keep going, one step at a time. Wishing you health and strength.

Peace.
