Fasting And Detox

Our bodies are meant to run efficiently. To take in natural foods and water and be in balance. Good energy flow. But what happens when there are blockages? Eastern Tradition shows us that it’s blockages (as well as leakage) of energy that causes conditions. That’s it at the root. So restoring proper flow throughout the body is the key. As you allow that, you’ll notice many benefits. You may feel calm or clear during the day, better sleep, weight will come off, or just in better communication with your Body, your Temple. All equally amazing gifts.

This article will cover some very interesting and helpful topics around Fasting and Cleansing. This is how I’ve come to understand it at this time from the various areas I have studied.

What We Take In

First- What we eat and drink. If we over consume- which many do, we become blocked up. Huge, frequent, and unnatural food, all cause blockages. The system just doesn’t know how to process it all- toxic build up occurs. This is where “symptoms” occur- which are natural messages from the body, letting you know there is an abnormal piece to be realigned. That’s all. In this case, the message from your Body would be: take in less food- the right food only- no substances- and take time periods of fasting: even 14 hours can be incredibly healing. Your Body can run it’s processes and let go of whatever should not be there. And just know your ancestors were totally in tune with Nature and would allow periods of detox and fasting when needed. They didn’t analyze or research or read books- it’s intuitive.

Some Key Foods That Are Good For Cleansing: Turmeric (Anti Inflammatory), Cruciferous Vegetables (Broccoli, Kale, Brussel Sprouts), And Garlic. All of these foods support your Liver which assists in detoxification. All of these are “Anti-xyz”, things we don’t want- I’d rather say they are healing foods.

Cilantro, Chlorella And Spirulina: These are all chelators- meaning it will bind to heavy metals for elimination. It also stimulates the Liver for better detoxification.

Second: What we take in through sound and sight. This is part of detox. In the same way as foods- if we consume date all day- screens and conversations- it blocks up the system. So the remedy there would be, TAKE TIME for silence, meditation, screen fasting. Yes, you can do it. It’s not only okay, it’s absolutely crucial. The less, the better. You will quickly recognize the quality of the messages and then discern and let it go when needed.

So all it takes is awareness and one step. You can choose to stop eating at 7pm and fast until 10am the next morning. And when you wake up, just have water with sea salt. Even that one step will give your body time to let go of what shouldn’t be there. And you can make that a practice. You can also choose to fast from everything but G-d given, Natural food. When you feel the benefits, you’ll stick with it. And over time, your Body will continue to detox.

As a second step you can choose to give up screens for a couple days and feel the difference. More focus, sharper, etc. No screens unless it’s absolutely necessary. Less input. That’s another way of detoxing.

So remember that it’s these blockages that have to be worked with- and they come in many forms. Let your body do what it naturally does and detox to heal and become more balanced.

Thank you for reading and I hope that benefits you in many ways- Wishing you health and strength.

Peace.
