CONVERSATIONS: Initiate And Choose Great Ones

Have a great day today-

Your conversations today are much more than “chatting” or “talking”. They carry keys that can lock and unlock doors. A few powerful words can help you unlock a door that helps you with your next step. Your internal conversation, the way you process and narrate is the same. The word con-versation, in terms of etymology actually means “where one dwells” also “your way”– consider “uni-verse”, one dwelling, one way. So with one conversation, your overall outlook can shift or lift up or even made more clear, and your movement forward can as well. That’s pretty powerful.

How You Speak With Yourself

It’s important to practice, first connecting with yourself and work on the inner narration. To narrate in a helpful way. That is first. You can use affirmations, take time for silence, and read sometime inspiring, interesting or supportive. These can help loosen up knots and allow for really just a more helpful way of conversing. As that changes internally, you’ll find yourself in different inspiring, fun or supportive conversations.

You can also choose easily which conversations you’ll be a part of. A great example of this is a while back I was having a conversation with someone at a park- he was doing some high intensity training and I asked him about his workout. We had a cool conversation and then began talking with a woman nearby- it turned into a “news/politics” conversation, so it was just kind of us 3 and the two of them talking about all that. I stayed for about a minute and they started debating and getting agitated… at which point I didn’t say a word and just left. It was pretty funny when I realized what had happened- In that moment I noticed an old pattern break– where I used to think I just had to listen to people- no matter who it was or what it was about. Like you just have to be there and absorb whatever is being thrown around. You never have to do that. It’s just noise. Practice deciding what conversations you’ll be a part of. That’s up to you.

Conversations Carry Insights

You also might realize that a conversation you had 2 months ago gave you a key or insight that is perfect for RIGHT NOW. And you may have given someone else a solution or key that they will be able to benefit from as time goes on. It’s really an amazing thing.

So it comes from first listening internally and deciding to work on things with compassion- that is important- that relates of course to self talk which can be difficult for many of us- maybe everyone on the planet at least at times? So compassion and knowing we are all works in progress is important- That it is workable, one step at a time.

Here are some intentions you can use to guide your day:
– I will choose and initiate an interesting, fun, solution based, or supportive conversation.
– I will move my body often and be aware of sitting too much- by deciding to just get up and move.
– I will make healthy choices as best as I can and stay hydrated.
– I will work on an important goal and feel great about any progress made.
– I will give value, whether it’s through work, or even a smile, book recommendation or helpful quote (St. Therese and her Little Way is a great lesson for this).
– I will take time to practice Gratitude and express it.

Of course use any of these or set your own to guide your day.

I hope this is really beneficial for you and can assist in many ways in your next steps.
