A Morning Routine And Giving Yourself Positive Affirmation

I hope you’re having a great day-

Here is something I’ve found very, very helpful and it can help you too. It’s having a morning routine, specifically with silence. For you that might mean taking a walk, stretching, breathing, prayer or meditation. But at the foundation it’s SILENCE. Before looking at a screen or any external noise, it’s taking time for yourself. Your goals for the day, your overall mission. It allows for insights to present themselves that are meant for you. It’s a time for centering and boundaries as well as Gratitude. From there you can move into your day in a different way. You’ll notice a big difference in what you focus on. And that can come from taking some time for silence, especially in the morning.

When we do this, we can decide what is necessary, what to take in, what to let go of. And it’s a practice, right? Just little by little, you practice and you notice what comes out of it. That gives you motivation to keep going. We’re all works in progress, just keep at it.

GIVE YOURSELF SOME GOOD WORDS TODAY

By taking time for silence early in the day and throughout, you’ll feel more clear and then can take in helpful ideas. Good words that help you feel inspired, motivated, or help you remember your strength and your potential. There’s a lot of noise- pull back and decide what to take in. Reading a book filled with uplifting ideas, wisdom, or even just really interesting- these can really help us. Remember the word “in-formation”- by reading a book like that you’re “informing” yourself or strengthening your inner form.

There are amazing books out there but some that come to mind are “Keys To Positive Thinking” based on Napoleon Hill’s work. And books like “Anam Cara” by John O’donohue. The first is just filled with gems, practices and lessons to learn and get better. Anam Cara and other books by John O’donohue are based on Celtic Wisdom (which was influenced a lot by the Desert Fathers and Mothers) and helps us pull inward with a lot of care and appreciation.

Use some powerful and positive words on purpose today for yourself (in the helpful resources section you’ll see the app Think Up) – and that’ll go outward as well. You are worthy of that- we all are, so give that gift to yourself and more importantly, let it land. Changing your words is one way to shift and direct energy- I learned that from some amazing healing teachers. These words strengthen you and can be healers of pain. And also they help you see you are infinitely greater than pain. And don’t worry about being perfect with it- again, works in progress.

Conditioning puts unnecessary and unhelpful ideas around you- and you can weed out your garden- get the seeds and weeds up and look at them: “Where did this come from?” “Is this idea helpful?” and just toss them out as needed. Weed it out and then decide to plant and water the seeds you want to. Some Buddhist teachings may call this “selective watering.”

Get some movement and nature time and give some GREAT WORDS for yourself today, right now- that’ll uplift you and change your energy. I hope that can carry you for a while and help you build your power.
