A Helpful Way To Frame Healing

In this article I’ll be going over a helpful way to frame healing- Just an approach you can utilize as you see fit. They can be very helpful whether you’ve experienced heavy trauma or not. It’s really about kind of zooming out and, with lightness and compassion, saying “okay, I can see that trauma has… made….xyz…. a little difficult”, and then asking “what would be the antidote, or the healing response to that?”

So for an example, let’s say you feel it out and you say “I realize trauma has made it easy for me to be unnecessarily hard on myself.” Then you’d ask, “what is the antidote?” Naturally, it’d be to practice self compassion, forgiveness. To recognize you deserve that. And to work on what you can in the moment. Just taking a step.

Another one might be “Trauma and the difficult emotions associated with it, make it easy to reach for junk food or something to numb it.” The antidote to that would be to learn about and start incorporating natural foods as much as possible, knowing it’ll make you stronger. Also to feel the emotion and work with it the best you can- and choosing a response.

And if your trauma has made it difficult at times to connect. You can work on connecting with yourself first and nature and then just connect as you’re able to. Just starting a conversation with someone at the park can be a good step forward. Doesn’t have to be about anything in particular- people enjoy when others say hello or share something cool.

I hope you find those ideas helpful. Just feel them out and see if they fit.
