3 Tips To Improve Health And Energy

I hope all is well. In this article I want to highlight three tips you can use to improve your overall health and energy. These help in the short term but also add up.

Number one is eliminating or reducing substances. Substances drain our vital energy. They seem like a quick fix but don’t actually help anything. And each time you feel the “hook” (shenpa in Buddhism), and you refrain, let’s say from drinking, you are strengthened. You gain a little bit of peace and strength. So use any method you can and reduce or eliminate these drains. Replace them with water.

Two- Eliminate or reduce junk food. That’s another drain. Like alcohol many societal ideas will say “it’s no big deal, just have some”. But you can do an experiment. Have a healthy lunch- some salad with chicken or fish, some nuts or seeds… and note how you feel in a couple hours. Then on a day you have junk food, do the same thing. You will notice you feel better after having the healthy lunch… it’s pretty obvious. Same thing here, when you refrain, you are strengthened.

And lastly, focus on what you’re doing right. Even if it’s one day of eating healthy. Celebrate it and focus on it. I notice with myself and people have told me, we focus a lot on what’s wrong or what we’re not doing the best with. If you shift that focus to gratitude and little or big victories, you will feel a boost in energy. Maybe you worked on something a year ago and are now feeling the results. That’s great, focus on that.
